eMMC

Our industrial eMMC (embedded MultiMedia Card) SSDs combine flash memory and controller in a 153-ball FBGA package. They are suitable for embedded systems with a small footprint that require robustness, reliability and durability in harsh environments.

eMMC is designed to meet the demanding requirements of industrial applications that require both memory and controller in a small package. As a permanently soldered solution, it operates reliably even under constant vibration. eMMC also offers an extended temperature range of -40°C up to 105°C. Even under extreme temperatures, it is thus made sure that there are no adverse effects on the device or the stored data.

Long-term availability

Consumer-grade eMMC memories generally have short lifetimes, as they are often discontinued as soon as a new device is released. This is ideal for mass markets such as smartphones, laptops or games consoles, where price pressure is high and product generations are fast-moving, but can be time-consuming and problematic for the industrial market.

We offer eMMCs with long-term availability that do not need to be constantly re-qualified. The components are available over a longer period of time, are robust and therefore suitable for in in-house developments or devices with an expected lifetime of several years.

Extended temperature range

The eMMC storage in our portfolia are available with ‘iTemp’ (temperature range from -40°C to +85°C) and even with 'extended iTemp’ (from -40°C to +105°C).

These industrial eMMCs offer all the advantages of standard eMMCs (compact, freeing up CPU space, ...) and, in addition, they can also be used outdoors, for example in camera surveillance systems, in automation or in the transport sector, thanks to the extended temperature range. Even in very cold or very hot conditions, data is safe, and system function is secured.

Long lifetime

Our eMMC memory solutions have been specially developed for the high demands of industrial applications and have up to two to three times the lifespan of standard eMMCs.

They also come with an advanced SRAM soft error detector and recovery mechanism to maximise data integrity.
