    This mSATA SSD is with its small Footprint the ideal solution for usage in tiny spaces, and is an ideal memory solution for sensitive data thanks to the features like the Wear Leveling Algorithm, S.M.A.R.T Life Monitor and the PowerProtector.

    The mSATA SSD is available in the following capacities: 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB (SLC), 64GB, 128GB and 256GB (pSLC) and 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 192GB, 256GB, 384GB and 512GB (MLC, i-Temp and e-Temp).

    NAND Flash: SLC / MLC / pSLC

    SLC (Single Level Cell) and MLC (Multi Level Cell) are both NAND-based memory technologies. They refer to the structure of Flash memory cells and how many bits each cell can store. SLC NAND stores one bit per cell while MLC NAND stores two bits per cell. The SLC NAND Flash is therefore more reliable: higher durability (number of read and write cycles), faster, power saving.

    MLC (Multi Level Cell) NAND Flash has a lower manufacturing cost versus SLC NAND. It stores more than 1 bit in one cell, which makes it very attractive (higher density for less money). Its durability and reliability are not as high as for SLC. MLC-based products are recommended for price-sensitive industrial projects.

    pSLC is an exclusive firmware solution. The firmware grants to pSLC cards and modules the technical benefits of the SLC at a better price. Endurance, performance and data retention are significantly improved vs MLC.

    Global Wear Leveling

    This function aims at extending memory cards life expectancy. ATP Electronics Global Wear Leveling treats and manages all NAND Flash components in ONE drive as one unified memory management unit. Endurance is further improved when the total density increases (more spare space for spare blocks). Global Wear Leveling maps host device's logical addresses into NAND Flash physical addresses equally and randomly.

    S.M.A.R.T Life Monitor

    The ATP Electronics S.M.A.R.T Life Monitor (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) allows you to see the current condition of the ATP modules. This allows you, for example, to supervise the remaining write and read cycles, or the wear of the card. This information will help you anticipate any disc drive failure, save the data and replace the SSD on time.

    PowerProtector

    The PowerProtector prevents you from any data-loss or writing-mistakes who could appear during a power failure. This standalone solution holds enough power to compensate any voltage variations, makes it independent from Controller and Firmware, and is also insensitive to temperature fluctuations.

    TRIM command

    The TRIM command allows the modules to perform two functions: a) finding another clean block to write on when the system encounters invalid data in one block, and b) finding the best time for the modules to engage in garbage collection and recycle additional clean blocks. The random writes can be optimized and re-sequenced into longer fragments of sequential writes. This allows the module’s real-time performance to be maintained at an optimum level at all times.
